Through the Firm’s media law practice, RSJ&G helps to safeguard rights protected by the First Amendment. The Firm represents several media clients including the Alabama Press Association and the Montgomery Advertiser newspaper. At the request of the Alabama Press Association, the Firm designed and established the first state media hotline in the United States. Lawyers at the Firm take daily calls from editors, advertising managers, and reporters on a variety of subjects affecting the day-to-day business of the media. The Firm has also frequently represented media clients in litigation involving defamation, access to information, taxation of newspapers, copyright and contract disputes.
