Federal: RSJG offices are located within walking distance of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. Panels of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals routinely hold oral arguments in the federal courthouse in Montgomery. Additionally, the Firm currently handles matters in the Northern and Southern Districts of Alabama and before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta. Attorneys at the Firm have argued before the United States Supreme Court and several are admitted to do so. The Firm has also handled matters in the United States Tax Court.
State: The Firm is also located within walking distance of the Alabama Judicial Building which houses the Alabama Supreme Court and the Court of Civil Appeals. There are well over 1000 published opinions from Alabama appellate courts where the Firm has argued and/or supplied briefs. The firm is located near state offices of almost every administrative and legislative agency.
The Firm also has attorneys licensed in the States of Georgia, Florida and Oklahoma as well as the District of Columbia.
Firm litigators try cases all over the state at the circuit court level. Autauga, Butler, Bullock, Chilton, Coosa, Crenshaw, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Pike and Tallapoosa county courthouses are all less than an hour’s drive from firm offices with Firm attorneys attending almost every general docket call. At any given time, however, firm attorneys will be handling several cases in counties throughout north-central to south Alabama with an emphasis upon counties within the Middle District of Alabama. Drive times to counties in which Firm attorneys frequently appear are as follows: Jefferson County [Birmingham] (1.5 hour drive); Barbour County [Eufaula and Clayton] (1.5 hour drives); Russell County [Phenix City] (1.5 hour drive); Houston County [Dothan] (2 hours); Covington County [Andalusia](1.5 hour drive).
